H. Stephen Straight
H. Stephen Straight is the founding director of Binghamton's nationally known Languages Across the Curriculum program. A Professor of Anthropology and of Linguistics, joined Binghamton's faculty in 1970. He holds the BA from the University of Michigan, and the MA and PhD from the University of Chicago. Prof. Straight has held a variety of posts while at Binghamton, including Director of the Linguistics Program and Director of Graduate Studies in Anthropology. As Vice Provost, Prof. Straight conducts a varied portfolio promoting coherence and creativity in the undergraduate curriculum, especially in regard to enhanced internationalization, and identifying opportunities to realize the University's educational goals both in and out of the classroom.
